Kate Franks-Carr
Hi everyone!
My name is Kate Carr and I serve as WVU Tech's head Women's Soccer coach and admissions counselor.
Originally hailing from Zanesville, Ohio, I went on to earn bachelor of arts degrees in sociology, anthropology and studio art (photography) at Earlham College, where I later served as the women's soccer assistant coach, the goalkeeper coach and trainer for the men's and women's soccer programs (2012-15). As a coach at Earlham, I guided the women's team to their first outright Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) championship. During this time I also completed my master's degree in kinesiology & health focused on sport psychology, from Miami University (OH).
Athletically I have been on the soccer field since I was four years old and competed in soccer and basketball during my college career. I was also an all-conference honoree and defensive team MVP on the soccer field while also being named team captain and "Unsung Hero" for the basketball program.
I currently hold three championship rings from my coaching career and am eager to continue to bring that winning spirit to the Golden Bears!
My passion is being part of the WVU Tech community and I love getting to know prospective students and their families! If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me any time.
