Engineering Technology vs. Engineering
Engineering Technology at WVU Tech is an applications-oriented program, providing educational opportunities to students who are interested in applied science and applications of engineering and technology. Our program provides an educational background that is rich in real-world applications. Emphasis on applying current knowledge and practices to the solution of technical and standard design problems is a hallmark of engineering technology education at WVU Tech.
The program provides multiple paths to earning the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (BSET). Students may enroll at WVU Tech as transfers into the upper division of our 2+2 program after completing their first two years of engineering technology study (earning an AAS/AS degree at a community college).
At WVU Tech, our engineering technology programs provide students an opportunity to learn through a hands-on orientation that challenges students to think critically, communicate effectively and work in teams to solve problems.
