Our students develop excellent communication skills, learn to integrate and analyze information and develop their leadership skills.

WVU Tech's Business Management program provides a broad understanding of management and leadership. Students take a variety of courses in human resource management, marketing, organizational behavior, operations management, statistics and business strategy.  

Students develop excellent communication skills, learn to integrate and analyze information, and develop their leadership skills.

This is a recommended major for pre-law students.

Career Profile

We provide students with an opportunity to gain practical experience in public or private sectors through internships. Students can participate in an internship program for college credit worth up to six credit hours.

Many of our graduates use the skills they gain here to build rewarding careers in marketing, media, management and human resources. Others go on to launch their own successful businesses.

Managing Individuals and Teams

Study traditional management functions, employee motivation, leadership, team dynamics and individual and group decision-making. You'll also explore social responsibility and ethics, diversity, organizational structure and design, organizational control and managing innovation and change.

Principles of Marketing

Know your business and how to present it to the world. This course dives into the interrelationships between marketing and other business disciplines. Topics include product management, communication, pricing and distribution, plus an introduction to buyer behavior and marketing research.

Business Simulation

Conduct full-scale business games with simulated real-world managerial decision-making experiences. The simulation provides students with opportunities to make decisions that impact a company as a whole.
